Restoring a historic landmark with respect for the city
Designed by Henrik Hagemann and Knud Arne Petersen, Helmerhus finished construction at the start of the 20th century – becoming widely known by locals as the “Utrecht Building” due to its occupancy by the Utrecht insurance company.
In close collaboration with Henning Larsen Architects, Helmerhus is getting redeveloped into a modern office building, securing its relevance as a cornerstone of the inner city. The building’s new tenants and neighbours will write the next chapter of Copenhagen’s Rådhuspladsen.
